After a bank holiday weekend producing two wins, clean sheets, and maximum points the Robins move into second place in these early stages this season this gives the club something to build on early doors.

Following the 2-nil win away at Shaftesbury on Saturday the visit of Cinderford Town drew 309 supporters through the turnstiles to watch a match where the Robins were confident throughout. The Robins were so unlucky not to score more goals, Amer Awadh had an early effort saved by Ben Clark the Cinderford keeper who gave a good display for his side. Reegan Messenger had a header disallowed, that was the first half before Levi Steele went inches wide of the post in the second half, followed by Toby Raison volleying inside the box, again, it was inches wide of the post, but that wasn’t enough for Raison who headed from an Awadh corner which was punched onto the crossbar by Clark.

Ibby Olateju came off the bench and five minutes later in the 82nd minute, he made a charge from just inside the Robins half on his own with plenty of time to decide where his shot was going and boy did he deliver to the delight of the Robins supporters, he beat Clark and what a roar that brought, look at the goal on the video below.

We have a break in matches now, next up is an away trip in the Isuzu FA Trophy 1st Round Qualifying on Saturday 7th September to Thatcham Town who beat Cribbs 1-0, the winners go into the draw for the 2nd Round Qualifying match which will take place on Saturday 21st September. In between we return to the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium with the visit of Bemerton Heath Harlequins on Saturday 14th September, all matches kicking off at 15:00.

Please see the videos below of Levi Steele’s goals from Saturday at Shaftesbury and Libby Olateju’s first goal for the Robins plus a chat with Mike Ford after the the Cinderford Town match.

We have a new page on the website where our brilliant supporters can help promote the club and our matches, this page https://eveshamunitedfc.com/fixtures-poster-download/ has a monthly fixtures poster which you can download and print off with thanks to Tim and Mad Web Design.

Also, another new page is the Robins Man of The Match page which you can see here https://eveshamunitedfc.com/robins-man-of-the-match/ both pages are easily found under the first team on the website menu.

Finally, Paul Harrison, club Commercial Manager has asked me to pass on this message, he said; “I would like to thank the supporters and players for their exemplary behaviour and timekeeping during the long but successful trip to Shaftesbury. I appreciate that they sometimes have been criticised for a variety of issues, but I can honestly say that I was proud on the day to be associated with EUFC.”
