Dudley Town Ladies 0-1 Evesham United Women
Sunday 3rd May 2026

Match Report by Simon Corbett

Evesham Utd Women travelled to Kingswinford to play Dudley Town Ladies knowing that a victory against their nearest rivals would put them within touching distance of the league title. With Manager Mark Taylor absent and enforced changes made with Kate Mills, Zoe Bloss and Jess Kenny all being unavailable, the strength in squad depth was sure to come into play.

That with Kyra Bostock being injured prior to kick off saw Liv Tresigne drop back to centre half with Emma Stevens at right back, Chloe Dyer in midfield alongside Yaz Gavhette and Ella Parkinson wide on the right.

The game started very evenly with the no goal mouth action before a ball over the top from Parkinson found Freya Bostock who seemed to be fouled from behind but the referee deemed it a fair challenge to everyone’s surprise. Evesham were getting on top with Grace Finch finding space on the left but her shot went just wide.

Another couple of Bostock chances were saved before the play switched to the other end and Dudley Town began to look dangerous, from corners especially. A move on the right saw a player free in the box but she took to long to shoot and it was cleared, another corner was cleared by the head of Bostock, equally as important in defence as attack.

Evesham’s best chance saw a free kick from Tresigne find Finch in space in the box but the shot was weak. The last chance of the half saw another corner for Dudley find a player who hit the post as the deadlock remained at the break.

The second half started with Grace Dolphin coming on for the injured Stevens and Tullulah Brown on for Parkinson with Beattie Jutel switching to right back from left.

The visitors started strongly with Bostock’s surging runs on the left, sadly the finishing touch was not applied. Saff Boswell combined with Bostock but the chance was cleared. Then a fantastic moment as Ria Salleh returned following a lengthly injury.

Dudley were still pumping long balls forward for the speedy forwards but the cool headed Tresigne and the all action Chopper Pitts were coping comfortably.

A free kick from Tresigne was high into the area and the Dudley keeper made a mistake in dropping the ball at the feet of Bostock who happily accepted the gift to give Evesham a deserved lead.

Finch had a chance to seal victory but the keeper made a fine save to her left.

Full time 0-1.

Reporters POM was Tresigne and Pitts with the returning Salleh also grabbing the vote.

Next up Inkberrow on Sunday however, Evesham could be crowned Champions before they play again depending on results during the week.
