Match Report: Evesham United Women 1-4 Hereford Women FC
Sunday 4th October 2026 – West Midlands Women’s Regional League Division One South
After last week’s disappointing result, Evesham Utd Women were looking to bounce back against Hereford FC Women on a lovely October afternoon.
Changes were made with Beattie Jutel returning at left back, Jess Kenny in midfield, with Ella Parkinson and Isla Campbell making starts either side of Centre Forward Saff Boswell. Freya Bostock and Sister Kyra were unavailable, and Natalie Sewell was only fit enough for the bench following her knock the previous week.
It didn’t take the home side long to create a chance with a lovely ball from Campbell that found Boswell, whose shot was saved by the keeper for a corner.
Play switched to the other end with a chance for Hereford, but a delayed shot saw the ball cleared. Another through ball from Campbell found Boswell through on goal, but a further pass forward found Jess Kenny in an offside position, and the finish was ruled out.
Good play on the right from Parkinson found Tamzin Hayward, who shot over the bar when well placed before Hereford had a good chance, but an early shot from distance flew over the bar.
Another chance for Boswell went wide at the near post before Evesham took a deserved lead when a corner wasn’t cleared by the visitors’ defence and Captain Chopper Pitts was on hand to stab the ball home from close range for 1-0.
Within minutes it was 2-0 when a lovely move on the right saw Parkinson’s cross find Boswell, who controlled and rolled into the path of Hayward, whose shot flew into the top corner.
Further chances were created by the impressive Campbell and pacey Parkinson for, but Hayward and Boswell saw efforts headed over and the keeper make a fine save.
The visitors had another chance which was saved by Sydney McKenzie before a brave McKenzie clashed with a Hereford forward, resulting in a stoppage in play as both players required treatment. When play resumed, good play on the right from Campbell resulted in a corner on the left which Kenny delivered only for Campbell to rise the highest at the back post, heading home for a 3-0 half-time lead.
The second half started with Evesham looking to put the game out of the visitors’ reach, with half chances created for Campbell, Boswell as Hayward hit the bar from distance.
The tenacious Yaz Gachette was replaced by Clare Williams in midfield, and Bea Harding came on for Parkinson wide on the right. Despite the home side being in control of the game, the visitors scored with 15 minutes left when a ball was played through to Demi Walker, who finished well.
A couple of moments later, the Herefordshire club thought they had clawed another back, only for it to be ruled out for offside. There was little more attacking play as the game came to a close, and Evesham saw themselves inflict Hereford’s first defeat of the season with a 3-1 win.
Special mention to Tallulah Brown, who was excellent at Right Back, the returning Jutel, who slotted in as if she’d not been away and Liv Tresigne, who has looked comfortable filling in at centre half once again.
Joint Player of the Match were Brown and Jutel whilst reporters’ Player goes to Isla Campbell.
Evesham are at home again on Sunday 11.10.2026 when they welcome Bromsgrove Sporting Ladies to the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium, KO 2 pm.
