Match Report by Simon Corbett

Evesham Utd Women made the short trip to play Kempsey Phoenix on a cold blustery late March afternoon. With Kyra Bostock, Ella Parkinson, Jess Kenny and Grace Finch all unavailable from the previous week, Manager Mark Taylor was pleased to see Chopper Pitts and Yaz Gachette back in to the starting line up with Zoe bloss making a welcome return to the squad.

Evesham were on the attack from the off with Chloe Dyer and Kate Mills combining on the right forcing numerous corners of which none came to anything. Some good pressing from Freya Bostock saw her pinch the ball off the defender, the ball was squared and the on running Dyer tucked the ball home for the opening goal.

Saff Boswell had a shot that just cleared the crossbar before two chances for Bostock. One wide with the keeper making a good save for the other. Two goals in quick succession saw Sophie Newby pass to Liv Tresigne who fired her shot into the corner then good play from Beattie Jutel and Bostock resulted in the later finding Newby struck home to make it 0-3.

Further chances were created before Saff Boswell hit a shot from the left to make it four.

A Tresigne corner was headed in by Bostock to make it 0-5 at half time with the league leaders in complete control.

Changes were made at the break with the injured Newby and Mills making way for Grace Dolphin and Bloss.

Evesham got off to a flier in the second half with 3 further goals in 5-6 minutes. Bostock drove forward with the ball and netted, Tresigne hit home from a free kick and a great cross on the right from the impressive Dyer was met by Bostock to head past the helpless keeper.

Jutel and Dyer made way for Helen Bourne and Jen Bent and from a Bostock cross from the right, Bourne smashed home.

Another surge down the right from the threatening Bostock saw her set up Boswell for a tap in for 0-10.

The home side did cause the Evesham defence some concern with some quality corners later on but Chloe Raxter kept her away clean sheet record in tact by repelling the danger.

The eleventh goal came when a ball over the top from Tresigne saw Boswell race clear and expertly dispatched her shot to finish off the scoring

Another good win against plucky opponents with the opposition keeper having a fine game. FT 0-11.

Whilst Boswell and Bostock both scored hat tricks, this weeks Player of the Match was awarded to Chloe Dyer.

The next game is at Home v Worcester City Lionesses on Sunday.
