Match Report: Evesham United Women 5-1 Burton Albion Women
Sunday 23rd August 2026 – Adobe WFA Cup
On a lovely sunny warm afternoon, Evesham United Women welcomed Burton Albion Women for an eagerly anticipated Adobe Women’s FA Cup Preliminary Round match.
With a crowd of over 100, Evesham Utd walked out alongside junior team mascots for the biggest game in the their history.
From the first whistle, Evesham were on the attack with Freya Bostock having a shot headed off the line before Tazmin Hayward’s shot was saved by the visiting keeper.
The visitors were having moments of their own, shooting on goal but only from distance to which the two opportunities sailed over the bar. Evesham were always in the ascendancy with Liv Tresigne and Yaz Gachette winning the midfield battle.
On 20 minutes, a through ball from Natalie Sewell found F. Bostock who was baring down on goal but a timely tackle cleared the danger. Following the hydration break, Evesham were back on the attack with another couple of chances going astray and in defence, Beattie Jutel, Zoe Bloss, Kyra Bostock and Captain Chopper Pitts all marshalling well.
With 35mins on the clock F. Bostock burst through and was fouled inside the penalty area for a spot kick of which she dispatched herself for a deserved lead.
As the HT whistle neared, F. Bostock turned provider as she found Sewell who coolly finished to make it 2-0.
Burton started the second half determined to get back in the game. Evesham dealt well with the Burton resurgence and began to get on top once again but in a moment, Burton were allowed too much time on the ball in midfield areas which resulted in a fierce shot on target of which Sydney McKenzie was unable to keep out in the Evesham goal.
It didn’t take long for the Robins to restore the two goal advantage when Sewell netted from a loose ball after the keeper made a fine save.
Changes were made with Ella Parkinson coming on for Kate Mills on the right. Parkinson’s tenacity resulted in her winning a tackle which found Hayward who expertly shot into the far corner over the keeper to make it 4-1.
The second hydration break saw further changes with Gachette and Hayward off for Clare Williams and Ria Salleh. Fresh legs in the middle of the park increased Evesham’s grip of the game and more chances were created.
Jutel headed against the post from a free kick with F. Bostock and Sewell coming close once again. Tresigne and Bloss made way for Tallulah Brown and Jen Bent as the hosts enjoyed the final 10 minutes of the game.
The outstanding Sewell completed her FA Cup Hat-Trick late on to make the final score 5-1 and round off an absolutely excellent performance.
Reporters Player of the Match was F. Bostock with the Award going to Natalie Sewell.
Next up for Evesham are Crusaders Women Away in Shirley on Sunday (30/08/26) before the Robins are back in FA Cup action on 06/09/26 at Home to Walsall FC Women who came through in the previous round with an 18-0 away win at Inkberrow Eagles Ladies. We’ll be hoping for another bumper crowd in what’s sure to be a tough test.
