PREVIEW: Evesham United vs Halesowen Town
Saturday 24th October 2026 – Isuzu FA Trophy 1st Round
The Robins continue their FA Trophy campaign in the First Round Proper on Saturday when they host Halesowen Town of the Southern Premier Division Central at the Spiers and Hartwell Stadium.
The Yeltz currently sit 11th in their division with 17 points from 11 games. They come into the tie on the back of a 5-1 reverse on Tuesday evening at Racing Club Warwick, but before that they had been on a solid run of just one defeat in ten games in all competitions.
Evesham have now lost five league games on the spin following the midweek 2-0 defeat on the road at Chertsey Town.
Manager Mike Ford remained positive about the overall performances afterwards and believes the wins will come. However, he also expressed concerns about the current level of injuries within the squad, as well as the fact that several players will be unavailable for the FA Trophy tie.
The two teams last met back in 2019 (again in the FA Trophy), with Halesowen eventually coming out on top 3-0 at The Grove following a 1-1 draw at Evesham.
Conditions are forecast to be wet and blustery on Saturday, but a lively atmosphere is anticipated, with a strong travelling contingent expected to make the relatively short journey south.
