Evesham United make their second away trip of the season this Saturday with a journey to West London to take on Hanworth Villa at Rectory Meadow in Hounslow.
The Robins bounced back from defeat against Frome with authority last Saturday, putting three goals past Chichester City without reply. Brandon Liggett was the star of the show, scoring twice as Evesham secured a convincing victory.
Like Evesham, the Villains have made a strong start to the season and also sit on six points from their opening three fixtures. They chalked up wins against Taunton and Gosport before losing out narrowly to the only goal of the game at Bath last weekend.
Hanworth Villa are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, having begun life as a local park team back in 1976. After spending many years in the Combined Counties, they were finally promoted to the Isthmian League in 2022 and then went on to win the South-Central Division play-off final with a 2-0 victory at Westfield in May, earning them promotion to Step 3 for the first time in their history. They were then moved over to the Southern League during the Summer.
With both sides looking to maintain their place among the early promotion contenders, Saturday’s encounter promises to be a highly competitive contest as the Robins aim to make it back-to-back victories on the road.
