Tuesday evening ended as a disappointing third defeat on the run at the hands of Malvern Town in front of 375 fans who watched a tight first half before the visitors score two goals during the early part of the second half to secure the league points.
The game was played in a good spirit, neither side taking many chances during the first half. A mistake at the back for Evesham saw Levi Francis blast the ball past Alex Harris in the 52nd minute.
Just 5 minutes later the visitors doubled their lead, Malvern broke forward, the ball was pulled back to Harry Clark who slotted the ball through the defence and past Alex Harris in the 57th minute.
Ford made changes bringing Aaron Heap on for Ethan Moran and Jyrel Bojang who replaced Sam Bailey in the 63rd minute. One further change came with Mackenzie Lamb replacing Josh Barlow on 83 minutes.
Town defended for all their might once they were two up to protect their lead, the Robins were unable to find a way through but when they did luck and accuracy was not on their side. Mackenzie Lamb finished of being booked in the final seconds.
After Saturday’s and Tuesdays disappointments, the Robins travel to Melksham Town this Saturday, kick-off at 15:00, Mike Ford hoping to turn things around.
Mike Ford shares his thoughts with Tim Allan in an after-match video chat below.
