Bromsgrove Sporting Development 0-1 Evesham United Women
Sunday 12th October 2025
Match Report by Simon Corbett
On a cold, cloudy yet still October afternoon, Evesham Utd Women travelled to Studley to take on a Bromsgrove Sporting Development side who had only lost the previous week by the odd goal in seven at Dudley Town Ladies, so a tough game was in store.
Manager Mark Taylor made three changes to his starting eleven, with Kate Mills, Beattie Jutel and Clare Williams all coming in.
From the first whistle, Evesham were on the front foot with Jess Kenny almost giving the visitors the lead within 20 seconds. Mills and Grace Finch also had shots saved by the Bromsgrove Keeper before Kyra Bostock volleyed wide following one of the numerous corners. Little was seen of the home side as an attacking force, but they were defending resolutely. Liv Tresigne hit the bar, then Kenny did the same from a corner before the half-time whistle blew. With the game scoreless, but not for the want of trying, Evesham were left scratching their heads as to believe how.
The second half started in the same vein, with Tresigne narrowly hitting wide from a free kick. The excellent Saff Boswell was replaced by Tallulah Brown midway through the second half, and within a minute of coming on, she was played in by Yaz Gachette and coolly lifted the ball high over the keeper and into the back of the net.
Helen Bourne entered the game late on to replace the tireless Williams before Bostock’s outstanding header was expertly saved by the home team’s Keeper as the score remained 0-1. Evesham saw out the final minutes to keep a fourth consecutive clean sheet and take another valuable three points.
In some ways, it was a frustrating afternoon, but Bromsgrove deserve credit for their part in making it a tough encounter. The whole team put in a shift, and a patient, concentrated approach saw a deserved victory in the end.
Evesham travel to Droitwich next weekend in the WFA County Cup, where they will take on Droitwich Spa Development KO 2 pm.
