Saturday 19th September 2026 – Emirates FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying
The Robins make the short 16-mile journey to Redditch United’s Valley Stadium on Saturday for what promises to be a mouth- watering FA Cup clash against their North Worcestershire neighbours.
The Reds overcame Malvern Town in the 1st Qualifying Round, requiring a replay to do so, while the Robins had an easier passage to the 2nd Round, beating Belper Town 3-0 away from home.
Redditch United are one of the oldest established football clubs in the Midlands, having been founded in 1891. They are now being managed by Jimmy Fry following the departure of their former manager Mick Fowler in the summer. They have made a steady if unspectacular start to the season in the Southern League Premier Central division. They sit 14th in the table having taken 6 points from their opening seven games. The Robins’ league record so far this season is the better of the two clubs, having taken 10 points from their first 7 games and lying 13th in the Southern League Premier Southern division. The two clubs play at the same level of league football.
League form is likely to count for little though in a Cup tie local derby with a place in the 3rd Round at stake, and a big crowd is expected for the game on Saturday. No doubt a sizeable and noisy contingent from Evesham will be in attendance!”
