Match Report: Evesham United Women 2-4 Walsall FC Women
Friday 11th September 2026 – Adobe Women’s FA Cup
Evesham United Women welcomed Walsall FC Women for their Adobe Women’s FA Cup First Qualifying Round fixture, two weeks after their fantastic Preliminary Round victory over Burton Albion Women.
The home side were missing centre-back Kyra Bostock, who is serving a suspension after her dismissal last week, and Midfielder Tamzin Hayward, who was away.
With over 170 spectators present, it was the visitors who started quickly with a header from a free kick, comfortably saved by Sydney McKenzie. That said, it was Evesham that moments later took the lead when Natalie Sewell made it difficult for a defender to clear and Jess Kenny pounced on the loose ball, tucking it home for a great start.
Walsall sent another free kick into the area, and another header was again saved by McKenzie. The hosts were looking the most likely to score the next goal, with Sewell and Freya Bostock looking lively up front, playing off Saff Boswell.
Evesham were battling away in defence, keeping out the visitors but were caught short at the back; McKenzie saved the first shot, but the rebound was netted from close range. Straight from the kick, Boswell had a shot saved before the visitors showed some class with a quick break to make it 1-2 and turn the tie on its head.
The second half started with the visitors hitting the bar with a fierce free kick.
The visitors increased the lead when Evesham inadvertently put the ball back into the path of the impressive Mia Fellows, who scored her hat-trick goal by lifting the ball over McKenzie.
Moments later it was 1-4 when what seemed a straightforward free kick should have been awarded but wasn’t, as Ria Salleh was caught after clearing the ball. It fell straight to Molly Cook, who made no mistake.
Evesham were still looking dangerous, and changes were made; a F. Bostock header was cleared off the line, and a Sewell effort was well saved. A deserved second goal did come for Evesham with 5 minutes left on the clock when F. Bostock held off a challenge and found Sewell, who finished superbly to make it 2-4.
Walsall FC Women were worthy winners on the day, but the Robins can be very proud of their efforts against a well-established team.
