Belper Town vs Evesham United

The Robins begin their FA Cup campaign on Saturday with a trip to Belper Town’s home at Christchurch Meadow. The Derbyshire club, nicknamed “The Nailers”, play in the Northern Premier League Division 1 Midland, one level below Evesham.
Belper beat Rugby Town 4-1 away in the FA Cup Preliminary Round to advance to Saturday’s game against the Robins, but their league form has been mixed so far this season, and they currently lie 15th in the table. They had a disappointing Bank Holiday weekend, losing narrowly to Wellingborough Town in the FA Trophy and by the same scoreline to Basford United in the league. Goalscoring has been their problem so far this season.
Both sides will be keen to advance further in the FA Cup, with the Nailers looking to claim the scalp of a higher league club. The Robins will be hoping to build on the recent boost of a Bank Holiday local derby win at Gloucester City.
The FA Cup tie has all the ingredients to be an excellent game, and the Robins will no doubt have a good following at the Christchurch Meadow, with many fans looking to enjoy a rare opportunity to travel to Belper and the nearby Peak District National Park.
