Weymouth v Evesham United
Saturday 9th August 2025
Pitching In Southern League Premier South
Evesham United kick off their first season in 13 years at Step 3 of the non-league pyramid with a trip to Dorset to take on Weymouth at the Bob Lucas Stadium.
Manager Mike Ford, who has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal over the summer, has chosen to fine-tune his squad rather than conduct any major overhaul. Out goes defender Michael O`Regan, who has opted to play his Premier South football at Gloucester City this season. In comes highly rated central defender Ioan Richards from Swindon Supermarine.
Also joining the club is striker Ethan Dunbar, who has made the short trip over from Bishops Cleeve. Both new additions have already looked sharp and been amongst the goals in pre-season.
Weymouth find themselves in the division for the first time in six years following relegation from the National League South last term, having finished second from bottom, recording just six wins.
This will be the first ever competitive meeting between the two clubs, and a hard-fought contest is expected.
Evesham will then host their opening home fixture of the campaign on Tuesday evening against Basingstoke Town with a 7.30 pm kick-off.
