Young defender Sam Bailey joined Southampton Football Club at the age of eight and was a part of the Academy for 12 years. He signed a scholarship contract in 2019 and impressed at Under-18s level, eventually playing up the age groups with the Under-21s. Sam has also had time at Kidlington but now the right-back comes to Evesham United in time to start the new season.
Sam said on his signing: Brilliant to sign for the club, really enjoyed the game last week. I want to be successful and develop and feel I can do this here.
Mike Ford commented: I spoke to Sam last year and in pre-season, and on both occasions it wouldn’t work. He played last week and looked comfortable, I’ve managed to secure a good person and footballer.
