Pitching In Southern League Premier South

This Saturday, Evesham United welcome the newly crowned champions of the Southern League Premier South, Walton & Hersham, to the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium.

The results on Easter Monday ensured that the Swans would finish top of the table, securing promotion to Step 2 of the National League for the first time in their history.

Despite earning a hard-fought point against Poole Town on Good Friday, Evesham have slipped to 18th in the table following a hugely disappointing 3–0 defeat away at Yate Town on Monday. Taunton Town currently occupy 19th place—the relegation cutoff—and, perhaps more worryingly for Robins supporters, they still have a game in hand.

Mike Ford’s side were narrowly beaten 2–1 in the reverse fixture at the Elmbridge Sports Hub back in September. With just three games remaining—culminating in a potentially decisive final-day trip to Taunton—getting a result this weekend could prove vital in Evesham’s fight for survival.
