Kingfisher Development 0-8 Evesham United Women

Match Report by Simon Corbett

Evesham Utd Women travelled to Redditch to play Kingfisher Development at the earlier kick-off time of 12.30 pm on the 3G surface due to an unplayable grass option. Manager Mark Taylor made three changes, with Grace Dolphin and Tallulah Brown coming in alongside 16-year-old Ella Parkinson, who was making her first start for the club.

On a cold, blustery day with the wind at their backs, Evesham were immediately on the attack with an early Liv Tresigne corner cleared off the line. Then it was the turn of Grace Finch to have a couple of shots that were saved by the keeper. Another pinpoint corner from Tresigne was saved again from the head of Kyra Bostock.

The pressure finally paid off when Brown headed in another corner from Tresigne for 0-1. The hardworking Yaz Gachette was having a fine match in midfield, winning tackles and driving the team forward, and Parkinson on the right was putting in first-time crosses, one finding Beattie Jutel in space, which was saved by the keeper.

Tresigne hit the second before Parkinson hit the bar, the third soon followed, with Finch delivering a perfect pass for Jutel to score. Little was seen of the home side as an attacking force, with the defence of Kate Mills, Chopper Pitts, Bostock and Dolphin coping easily with any hint of forward play and ensuring keeper Chloe Raxter remained a virtual spectator. Just before half-time, Mills had to be replaced due to a concussion following a ball hitting her in the face, and Millie Whitehead joined the game.

The second half started as the first finished, with Evesham camped in the Kingfisher half. Just 7 minutes in, a great move on the left involving Dolphin and Jutel resulted in a second goal for Brown. Moments later, a cross from Tresigne was headed in by Parkinson for 0-5.

Changes were made with Ria Salleh, Saff Boswell and Helen Bourne coming on, and with the pressure not letting up, Finch got a deserved goal from distance. Boswell did the same to make it seven before Ria Saleh made it 0-8 with a great finish. The chances continued to be created with Boswell and Bourne denied by the keeper.

A dominant performance from the whole squad from start to finish, with Yaz Gachette taking the Player of the Match in my opinion, but Beattie Jutel taking the eventual accolade.

Next up is Kempsey Phoenix Ladies at Home 30.11.25, but please note, the match will take place on the 3G, KO 2 pm.
