Ross Women A-A Evesham United Women
Sunday 9th November 2025

Match Report by Simon Corbett

Evesham United Women travelled to Ross Women for this Midwest Counties Female Football League fixture on a wet and miserable November afternoon. A short but pleasant service was led by Ross Women’s Manager Carl Roberts as Ross Captain Macy Walker and Evesham Utd Captain Charlotte ‘Chopper’ Pitts carried wreaths to the centre circle before a minute’s silence and the Last Post played to mark the occasion.

When the Football began, Ross were on top of the early exchanges and looked threatening in wide areas. Ross took the lead fairly early on when the excellent Millie Malsom latched onto a through ball and fired in past Chloe Raxter for 1-0. Moments later, Ross almost went 2-0 up, but some good defending from Beattie Jutel put a stop to that.

As the half continued, Evesham began to come into the game. Saff Boswell and Liv Tresigne both struck over the bar, and Tresigne’s dangerous corners saw the visitors come close. That said, the threat of a Ross attack was always a possibility.

Evesham got a deserved equaliser when some tenacious work from Tallulah Brown and Jess Kenny saw the latter fire in from all of 30 yards for 1-1.

The second half saw Manager Mark Taylor make a tactical change with Defensive Midfielder Clare Williams coming on. The change allowed Evesham to play a slightly different way and quickly got on top. Numerous corners caused problems, the threat of Freya Bostock, Grace Finch and Boswell with the shooting range of Kenny and Tresigne meant a second looked imminent. The second did come just after the hour when Tresigne’s corner was met by Boswell, who powered home her header from close range.

Sadly, that was the last action of the game as Ross Captain Macy Walker was badly injured in the process. An ambulance was called, and rightfully so, before the Referee blew the final whistle and abandoned the game. The right decision was made, and we’d like to wish Macy a swift recovery. We look forward to meeting Ross later in the season in what’s sure to be another cracking game!

Up next for Evesham is the County Cup 2nd Round, where we face Worcester City Lionesses at The Spiers & Hartwell Stadium on Sunday, KO 2 pm.
