Evesham United Women 13-0 Welland
Sunday 5th October 2025

Match Report by Simon Corbett

On a cool, dry, blustery October afternoon, Evesham Utd Women welcomed and comprehensively beat a spirited Welland FC Ladies.

Evesham did not take the fixture lightly following Welland’s win the previous week, and the knowledge that whatever the situation, an honest, hard-working team is what you get.

After getting themselves into an early rhythm, the home side took the lead on 8 minutes when Saff Boswell ran clear and tucked the ball home. Ellie Johns was next on the scoresheet with a great strike from a wide area before Welland had a couple of half-chances that they failed to convert.

Boswell and Johns scored again, not long after their initial strikes, to make it 4-0 before Liv Tresigne’s long-range effort flew straight over the keeper for 5. Grace Finch added a further goal to make it 6-0 at HT.

The second half saw Evesham back on the front foot, looking to add to their tally. The changes came, and so do the goals. Chanel Gittus, Clare Williams, Kate Mills and debutant Helen Bourne all entered proceedings.

Finch struck two brilliant goals from distance to complete her hat trick. Gittus cooly finished for her first of the season before Finch was at it again, scoring from even further out to take her to 4 goals for the afternoon. Tresigne and Gittus both went on to double their tallies as Bourne clinched her first of the season.

Final score 13-O. In summary, a dominant display of a solid defence, tenacious in midfield and free flowing in attack.
