Robins Defeat in Devon

Robins lost out last Saturday in Devon by a single goal with a full time score Bideford AFC 2 v 1 Evesham United, not the result that was wanted but the Robins regroup and head for Didcot Town tonight with a 7:45 pm kick-off.

Early on Reegan Messenger and Levi Steele were denied by Bideford keeper Michael Searle before Finn Roberts (28′) with a super volley from just outside the box left Alex Harris with little chance while Jack Winsor (32′) was on target with a low shot across the goal as Bideford beat Evesham United at the Sports Ground for their first home league win of the season.

A couple more efforts by Levi Steel and Amer Awadh shortly before the interval went wide of the target leaving Bideford two goals up as the half-time whistle was blown.

Alex Harris pulled off a couple of saves from Alexander Moyse and Ryan Turner before Levi Steele got in behind and finished low past Searle (68′) to give Evesham some renewed hope.

Ethan Moran shot over the bar while Bideford had a couple of chances saved and shot going wide before a red card for Winsor for kicking the ball away saw Bideford down to 10 men (89′).

Bideford were let off with the ball hitting the post (90′), leaving the home side to hang on for the points.
